Week 16 Start 'Em Sit 'Em

Start 'Em

Ryan Tannehill: Tannehill doesn't have the yards to show for it, but he's been one of the best QBs this year with his 31/5 TD to INT ratio. Last week, he found the end-zone five times (3 passing 2 rushing) and scored 37 fantasy points in a dominating win over Detroit. This weekend, the Titans travel to Green Bay in a game I can only assume is going to be a shootout. Aaron Rodgers will be able to carve up Tennessee's secondary which will mean Tannehill will have to play keep up. Derrick Henry should run rampant against a terrible rush defense but i'm guessing the Titans will be losing much of the game resulting in a big second half for Tanny. Fire him up as a top QB play this weekend.

Austin Ekeler: Since Ekeler returned from his hamstring tear he has posted two stellar fantasy performances and two very mediocre showings. Last week, everyone expected a huge outing but at less than 100%, he wasn't able to get much going. Justin Herbert was slinging the ball downfield all game which took away all the dump-offs we are accustomed to seeing from Ekeler. This week should be a different story however against a slightly better pass defense with Ekeler being 100%. He will return to form this weekend and receive around 25 touches making him a top 5 play in PPR leagues. Keep in mind that he's producing great fantasy value the last four weeks with no TDs in that span. This could very well be the week he finds the end-zone.

Jarvis Landry: I've been hating on Baker Mayfield since the beginning of the year which also translates into not trusting Landry as a fantasy threat all season. These past four weeks from Baker and company have proved me wrong and those who drafted and held onto Landry, have been rewarded. Landry has almost as many fantasy points in the last four weeks as he did in the first ten of the season putting him in the WR1 category. Totaling 38 targets, 29 receptions, 308 yards and 3 TDs in the last four weeks, he's a PPR beast. Going against the Jets this weekend should result in at least 15 fantasy points but his ceiling is extremely high. Start him in all formats but especially PPR.

Mark Andrews: Andrews was a disappointing fantasy pick being inconsistent and unreliable for the majority of the season. The onus isn't on him however as Lamar Jackson was feeling the Madden curse early on this year. Now that Lamar and the Ravens are in hyperdrive fighting to win the division and make the playoffs, Andrew's fantasy value has risen over the last two weeks. There isn't a whole lot of hope for a breakout game against the Giants, but they have a good defense and will force Lamar to throw short. Don't get cute with the TE position this week and take the 12-17 PPR points Andrews will give you.

Sit 'Em

Russell Wilson: As a Seahawks fan it pains me to write this but it must be done. After a blistering start to the season, Wilson has trailed off the last six weeks going for 20+ fantasy points just twice in that span. The whole Seahawks system has changed since then as well. Before the 44-34 loss to Buffalo the Seahawks were a lock to hit the over and Wilson was the best QB in football. Since then, Seattle has gone back to their vintage form of winning games defensively to go along with a heavy rushing attack which has hurt Wilson's value. Going against LA Rams this weekend won't do Russ any good as Ramsey will look to put the clamps on DK Metcalf. In a likely low scoring defensive battle, Wilson is a safe bench with not much room for a breakout game.

Jonathan Taylor: Jonathan Taylor has been on fire the last three weeks totaling 395 total yards and 4 total TDs. The big takeaway however is that he played Houston twice, (given up 2nd most fantasy points to RBs) and Las Vegas (4th most point to RBs) in those three games. He's in for a rude awakening against Pittsburgh this weekend in a game that the Steelers must win in order to gain some confidence back. I've put RBs on my Sit 'Em list before when they've gone up against Pittsburgh and those picks have yet to go over 10 fantasy points. Taylor's ceiling is around 15 points if he scores but the defensive front of the Steelers will cause him problems all game long.

Robby Anderson: Anderson has been the definition of a solid play each week averaging just over 70 yards per game. TDs have hindered Anderson's fantasy value as he's only scored two times all season long. This weekend, Carolina goes to Washington in a big game for the Football Team with playoff hopes on the line. Washington was able to stifle Seattle's passing game last week and if they can slow down Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, they shouldn't have much of a problem with Anderson. With his upside being so low, Anderson is a risky play as a very best case scenario he's getting around 15 fantasy points in PPR formats.

Hayden Hurst: Hurst hasn't been producing well this year and shouldn't be trusted in the championship. In a game against the Chiefs where Atlanta will likley be trailing, they'll be looking for chunk plays to WRs rather than underneath passes to Hurst. Totaling 6 catches for 37 yards and a TD in the last three weeks, your only hope is for him to score. If he doesn't, you're left with a bust play at the TE. If you are weak at the position, there are other players to go fishing for.
