Week 9 Sleepers

Cam Newton: Newton has had his ups and downs this year but has a favorable matchup this week against the Jets. The only game in which he's had success passing was against the Seahawks' horrible secondary, but his rushing ability has given him fantasy upside. With a mouthwatering matchup, I think the Patriots will be able to move the ball and Newton will be able to get you 10+ fantasy points on the ground. He should also be able to find room through the air which makes him a solid play if you're in need of a QB stream.

Ben Roethlisberger: Big Ben and the Steelers are cruising to a league-best 7-0. This week, they get the privilege of playing at Dallas which will make them perfect through half the season. Dallas' secondary will be destroyed by Diontae Johnson and company while Roethlisberger should be able to find space all game. He's been average all year but should score 20+ fantasy points with ease in this one and is worth a stream if you need one.

Chase Edmonds: Edmonds has been playing behind Kenyan Drake all year but his opportunity to take the job has arrived. He has big-play ability and his prowess as a pass-catching back gives him major upside. Going against Miami who's been mediocre in the run game and solid against the pass, Edmonds could be used heavily. He's got lots of upside in PPR leagues and should be started in all formats. If he runs wild in this one he could potentially make a case for starting over Draks, although I feel that case is already made.

Damien Harris: Harris hadn't had a game worth noting this season due to lack of TDs and unknown amounts of carries each game. In four contests this year, he's rushed for 100 yards in two while getting 16 and 17 carries. In his two off games, he only combined for 16 carries but totaled almost 80 yards. His yards-per-carry is up there with the best of the best but the volume hasn't been there. It seems he has established himself as the lead back for the Patriots after last week and his workload should be there against the Jets. He is a great play this week for around 15 points but doesn't have much breakout ability.

Sterling Shepard: The notoriously injured Giants WR is back healthy and has had two great weeks in a row. He's totaled 18 targets, 14 receptions, 133 yards and a score catapulting him in front of Slayton as the WR1 for New York. The 77% completion rate to Shephard is easily the best it's going to get with Jones so the chemistry there is obvious. Shepard is a solid WR2 for the rest of the season if he can stay healthy.

Cole Beasley: Beasley has been consistent all year posting two games below 10 points in PPR scoring and averaging almost 13. After his worst game of the season last week, he should be in line to bounce back against a bad Seattle secondary who will be getting Jamaal Adams back. That should put some strain on Diggs' production opening up space underneath for Beasley and Josh Allen to connect. He probably won't have a monster game but a similar player in Julian Edelman lit up Seattle's defense back in week two. Beasley is a solid flex play, especially in PPR.

Marvin Jones Jr: Jones has been a player to forget about this year in fantasy. However, his last two weeks have him trending in the right direction. With Golladay out this week and Chase Daniels in at QB, Jones could be in line for a season-high in targets. Daniels is no scrub and I don't believe it'll be much of a downgrade fantasy-wise for Detroit pass catchers. Going up against a young, poor Minnesota secondary, Jones is worth a play with lots of upside.

Jimmy Graham: Graham is only a good play when he gets into the end-zone. This week, I think he does just that against a poor Titans secondary. Nick Foles should have one of his better games of the season and the Bears could actually move the ball well giving Graham a couple opportunities. He's a risky play, but this week is as good a week as ever to give him a chance.
