Week 6 Sleepers
Matt Ryan: Matty Ice has been just that the last three weeks. ICE COLD! After scoring 25+ fantasy points the first two weeks of the season, Ryan hasn't had over 13 in his last three games. His inconsistency is enough to drop him but he has a chance to score 20+ this week. Going to Minnesota in an indoor stadium which Ryan loves, he has a favorable matchup. The young Vikings secondary will have their hands full with Ridley and Julio as they're going to have to deal with two of the best WR's in the league. Ryan is a very risky play, but you just might be rewarded.
Tom Brady: Brady hasn't had the best fantasy season but has shown that he still has it against the Broncos and Chargers. This week, he goes up against a mediocre Green Bay pass defense in a game that will likely be back and forth. Brady is going to want to outplay Rodgers in this one and if Tampa gets down, he will be throwing often. He has good chance to put up QB1 numbers this week.
James White: White has only played in two games this season in which he scored 7 and 10 fantasy points. This week, the Patriots play a top Denver rush defense which normally would be a reason to bench an RB, but with White, it's different. He thrives in the passing game and if NE can't run the ball (which they won't), White will be the beneficiary of dump-offs. If your RBs are on a bye or injured, White is one of the best deep waiver pickups this week.
Chase Edmonds: Kenyan Drake has been struggling immensely this season and shows no signs of picking things up. This week, against the Cowboy's struggling defense, Drake will need to perform if he wants to be considered as a solid RB in the league. Edmonds has had 12 and 17 fantasy points in his last two games and has caught 5 passes in each of those games. The Cowboys are known to give up big fantasy plays to opposing teams and that's what Edmonds specializes in. Even though Drake will get the majority of touches, Edmond's big-play ability and pass-catching prowess gives him a chance at another good game.
Christian Kirk: Can you tell I like to start players against Dallas? Kirk is yet another player I have on my sleeper list because of his matchup on Monday. Last week, he caught 5 of 7 targets for 72 yards against the Jets, and with an even more favorable matchup, I like his chances to go over those numbers. Kyler Murray shouldn't struggle to throw the ball in this one and Kirk should be open underneath plenty.
Brandin Cooks: Cooks had a huge week last Sunday with 8 catches on 12 targets, 161 yards and a score the week after O'Brien got fired. Cooks went ham in Romeo Crennel's first game as interim head coach and it could be a sign of things to come. Once a top WR in the league, Cooks could return to that form if Fuller is drawing the top opposing CB each game. Going up against a Tennessee team who is coming off a great game and a short week, Houston will look to capitalize on a tired yet confident defense. With his performance last week, Cooks could be a WR2 with WR1 upside the rest of the season.
Laviska Shenault: Shenault has quietly been Minshew's #1 WR this year with Chark battling injuries. This week, Chark is highly questionable and could easily sit out against the Lions' weak secondary giving Shenault the bulk of the targets. The last two weeks, Shenault has totaled 165 yards on 12 catches with Chark available. He should be in line for WR1 production as Minshew will look his way all game as long as Chark sits.
Trey Burton: Burton didn't play in the first three games of the Colts season but is healthy and played the last two. He's seen 11 targets in his two games back from injury while Allie-Cox and Doyle have combined for 6. Developing as Rivers' TE1, Burton could see an increase in snaps and touches putting him in a top 10 fantasy TE position. He is a deep sleeper for now, but Rivers has always loved TEs and Burton is definitely his top choice.
