Week 2 Fantasy Sleepers
QB Sleepers
Ben Roethlisberger: Big Ben is coming off his first game back from injury in which he threw for 229 yards and 3 TDs on the road while managing not to turn the ball over. Historically, the veteran has played much better at home. Since 2013, Big Ben has averaged 23 fantasy points at home while putting up 14 on the road. He returns home to play Denver this weekend who just allowed Tannehill to pass for 249 yards, 2 TDs and no interceptions while only putting up 16 points. I have to think that Roethlisberger will get his chances in this one with James Conner battling an ankle sprain. After what he did on the road in his first game back, I can see him surpassing the 300-yard mark with 3 TDs this week.
Matthew Stafford: Stafford passed for 297 yards and a score to go along with a pick and 23 rushing yards against a stout Bears defense. That was also a game in which the Lions completely shut off in the 4th quarter and blew a 17-point lead. This weekend, he goes up against a Packers team who let up 34 points to the Vikings and allowed Kirk Cousins to pass for 259 yards and 2 TDs. With the Packers high flying offense the Lions will be playin keep up for most of the game unlike when they played the Bears and Stafford will throw the ball 40+ times making him a great usage play. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for 350+ with at least 2 touchdowns in a game where he will have chance at garbage time points.
RB Sleepers
Raheem Mostert: Mostert had over 151 total yards on 15 rushes and 4 receptions with a score in a week 1 loss to the Cardinals. This week the 49ers go up against the Jets in a game which San Fran should dominate. If the Niners are winning throughout, Mostert will get more than 19 total touches and should prosper against a weak Jets team.
Adrian Peterson: Now, what I said about Matthew Stafford doesn't bode well for AP if they're losing for a majority of the game. However, in a 12-man league or if you're having injury problems, he could still be a great play. Against a solid Bears rushing defense he ran the ball only 14 times for 93 yards and got involved in the passing game catching 3 balls for 21 yards. As the game went on, it looked as if he was being fed the ball more and more and it looked as if he was solidifying himself as the Lions RB1. Even if he only carries the rock 10 times, he can notch over 50 yards and has a chance to find the end-zone. He's a somewhat risky play, but if you're desperate he is a fantastic option with even RB2 upside.
WR Sleepers
TY Hilton/Parris Campbell: Both of these guys have a chance to have big weeks going up against Minnesota who let Rodgers do whatever he wanted through the air, and Davante Adams recording 14 catches. In week 1, Campbell tied the team lead in targets (9), catches (6) and led the team in yards (71). TY only had 4 catches on 9 targets with 53 yards but he normally is a hit or miss play. With a horrible Vikings secondary, the Colts WRs are going to be the biggest beneficiaries and I wouldn't be surprised if both of them get around 100 yards. Of course, TY is a more reliable option and has a higher upside than Campbell, but if you're looking for someone off the waiver wire to put in the flex, Campbell is your guy.
Diontae Johnson: Johnson had a horrible start to the 2020 season as he fumbled a fair catch and wasn't doing anything in the first half. He rebounded in the second half and ended up recording 6 catches for 57 yards on 10 targets (4 more targets than Juju). If Big Ben does what I think he will at home this week, and he and Johnson pick up where they left off, he should get a lot of chances and will be a great usage play with WR1 upside.
TE Sleepers
Dallas Goedert: Ertz was keyed in on more than Goedert in the game against Washington which they somehow lost. The Rams will surely use a similar defensive game plan against the Eagles to stop Ertz and Wentz from getting on the same page. Since Wentz is struggling throwing the ball, he will look to his Tight Ends once again to bail him out and my bet is on Goedert being the one left open more often than Ertz. Even if I had Ertz, I would bench him for Goedert who is a must start this week.
O.J. Howard: Howard had more catches, yards and targets than Gronk and he had 1/2 of Brady's touchdowns. OJ hasn't had the chance to get his career going but with Brady throwing him the ball, he has a better opportunity this season than ever before. I would start him over Gronkowski if I had the choice. I could see Tampa Bay scoring quite a bit against Carolina and Howard has a great chance to find the end-zone again.
